Memorial Grove
Memorial Grove
Memorial Grove is the garden at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for the scattering and interment of ashes of late individuals who were affiliated with the University. Memorial Grove is located at the corner of Country Club Road and Raleigh Road adjacent to the Old Chapel Hill Cemetery. The garden is reserved for use by individuals with a University affiliation and for immediate family members of those individuals. Because of the nature of a scattering garden, the space (while relatively small) can accommodate an unlimited number of individuals, allowing anyone who wishes to maintain an eternal connection to the University to do so. Along with the eternal joining, the Wall of Remembrance displays the names of individuals who have been interred in Memorial Grove for family and friends to visit.
On Sunday, June 18, 2023, Coach Ron Miller’s and Susun Miller’s Family interred Coach’s ashes into the ground at Memorial Grove on Father’s Day.
