Congrats, Upcoming Tourney, and Ref Clinic
Congrats to the fencers who competed over the weekend! We had a pretty good tournament over the weekend with a pretty decent showing. Thanks also to our referees that kept things running!
Our champions this weekend were Max, Isabelle, and Holden. Keep trying tournaments! The more experience you get, the more things make sense, you’ll understand the things I’m trying to teach in class, and you begin to learn what works and doesn’t work!
Tournament results can be found here: https://askfred.net/Results/results.php?tournament_id=48736
NEXT TOURNAMENT
The next tournament will be a teen and adult only tournament, and it will be out of town. It hasn’t been announced on AskFred yet so I don’t want to jump the gun too much in case details change, but hopefully it will be up soon. But try to keep the October 23rd date open for an out of town tournament, no more than 2 hours away.
This will be a SANCTIONED event, which means, you will need at least an Access Membership through USA Fencing. When the October 23rd tournament is announced and you plan on participating, make sure you have at least an Access Membership or a Competitive Membership.
REFEREE CLINIC
Long time friend, Lisa Campi-Sapery is hosting an online referee clinic. This is good for our fencers who are learning to referee, perhaps would like to referee at one of our tournaments, also open to parents who would like to understand refereeing and maybe help us referee tournaments and classes as well. The clinic is one full day.
The online class is also a step in earning a fencing referee rating should you want to try for that.
Learn more about the online referee clinic at: https://askfred.net/Clinics/moreInfo.php?clinic_id=48723
Let me know if you have any questions about the clinic or refereeing.
