Wilmington Results and Other Updates
Congrats to all the fencers that fenced at Wilmington over the weekend! We had 10 fencers competing over the weekend in 3 different events. Congrats to Coach Gerhard who took 1st in the Open Foil and Andrew Iford who tied for 3rd in the Open Foil. Congrats to Bruce McRae who tied for 3rd in the Div3 Foil.
Other honorable mentions, Isaac Canady was one bout away from earning his first rating, but unfortunately, his quarter final elimination was against Bruce. Isaac finished in 5th place in the Div3 Foil. Also congrats to Lily who won her first elimination round in a large rated fencing tournament. She won 15-14 against a higher seed (John Thu, 13th seed). She got to make that first walk to bring her elimination round score sheet to the bout committee! Lily finished in 16th place in the Div3 Foil.

Check in schedule for the Raleigh SJCC and NAC have been posted.
For fencers that are fencing, please view your check in schedule. For anyone that is visiting or supporting our fencers, view the times that our fencers are fencing if you want to watch them. Otherwise, this is also a good time to not only watch great National competition in our state, but also purchase and try on equipment!
Here are when our fencers are fencing:
Men’s Div2 Foil: Friday 2PM (Gabriel Guevarra, Isaac Canady, Andrew Iford)
Women’s Cadet Foil: Saturday 8AM (Isabelle Guevarra)
Men’s Div2 Epee: Saturday 2PM (Andrew Iford)
No Class Tuesday, June 6, 2023
Grace Guevarra is graduating! Some of you may remember her as your Camp Manager if you did Beginner Fencing Summer Camp with us. Below is the make up schedule:
Youth Class Make-Up: Thursday, June 8, 2023, 6PM
Teen/Adult Class Make-Up: Wednesday, June 7, 2023, 6PM
Wednesday Classes Will Start At 6PM Starting June 7
Starting June 7, 2023, Wednesday classes will shift 15 minutes earlier and start at 6PM. For all students that will be moving up to the older class on Wednesdays, the class itself lasts an hour, but all students in these classes are expected to fence electric after class. Typically fencers will stay for another half hour to 45 minutes doing open electric fencing, but you can leave whenever you like and stay however long you like. Students in this class tend to compete more frequently so we spend additional time practicing in full competition gear.
