2 Fencers Need Our Support
I know for many, times are tough right now. If you are able to support two of the All-American Fencing Academy Family right now, please do.
Zion and Nova are two of our fencers (the two boys in front in the picture), and their dad, Selwyn was just in a bad accident in Arizona. For those that know the Facey Family, Selwyn is a sky diving instructor.
From Zion and Nova’s mom, Melody:
He’s suffered extensive injuries including broken bones from his pelvis to his ankles and his wrists, fractured C6, and has had multiple surgeries and metal souvenirs decorating the insides of his legs. As everyone who knows Selwyn knows, this won’t stop him, but he has a long road to recovery.
I’m asking everyone for their prayers, meditations, positive thoughts, whatever it is you believe in, this is the time to send out healing energy to a person who is a friend and positive influence to so many. As he is a skydiving instructor, he will be unable to work until he is fully recovered.
Some of the Facey family and friends have have started a GoFundMe page for him if anyone is in a position to donate to help with the costs of treatment, rehab, travel back home when he can – estimated in about three months, and ramps for accessibility, etc. While we are so far away from him here in NC, we’re staying positive. The kids were super relieved to hear his voice after he woke up yesterday.
The hospital has restrictions due to COVID-19 so we won’t get to see him in person until he is relocated to a friend’s house near Tucson where he will be taken care of until he is able to travel. But the doctors and nurses are doing a good job and they think he’s a funny character, so everything is going positively. I’m sure he’ll all be telling us this as a funny story for years to come. Thank you
