End of Season, Last Tournament
It was a great fall and spring season. In the fall of 2017, Melea earned her E rating. In the Spring, Victor and Sabrina competed in their first North American Cup, Gabe competed in his second. Coach Gerhard competed in both the Vet40 and the Div2 North American Cup and medaled in the Vet40.
We’ve had more fencers become competitive members and fenced in sanctioned events this year! (Early reminder, remember everyone, you have to renew your competitive or non-competitive membership at usfencing.org. Membership renewals begin after July 31st. Membership Extension Policy: A new competitive and non-competitive member whose annual dues are paid during the last four months of the membership year shall be entitled to a membership through the next membership year. This policy applies both to new members and to existing members who have never previously held a competitive membership)

Congrats to the fencers who competed in their first tournament! Everyone has a first tournament, and it’s almost always difficult and many lessons learned! Our vets, Steve and Sandy Cage, and Marvin Williams competed in their first tournament (and more Vet tournaments will be scheduled in the fall). In our developmental tournament, Luke Eaves and Zach Poche competed in their first tournament! Also in the Y12, James Ellison competed in his first tournament! We hope to see you continue to compete in the fall!
Classes will continue throughout the summer. There might be some schedule changes due to coaches taking a vacation, but we’ll let you know. Also, don’t forget about our Anniversary and Reunion Celebration weekend. Sign up for the potluck on Saturday at: http://www.luckypotluck.com/cgi-bin/display/potluck.pl?id=15258021972152222109
