Thunderbolt and Lightning Recap

Over the weekend, Army Specialist, Trevor Herrin, earned his “E” rating in epee. Herrin had to best fencers from Apex, Charlotte, and his own teammates to be the last person standing in the elimination rounds.  We also saw Coach John Page get in on the epee action, Coach John took third.

Also on Saturday, Gabe and Bruce tied for third.  This was Bruce’s first time on the medal podium.

Jack Tart took first in the older youth event and Daniel Johnson tied for third.  Jack had some tough competition over the weekend.

In the younger youth event, we had several of our new students participate in their first tournament, including Noah and Jacob, and many still beginners. Jake and Daniel Decipulo tied in wins in the pools, but Jake had the high seed. Jake took first against Daniel Decipulo in the pools.
