CLASS DETAILS
The class is FREE! Because we will be using “lightsabers”, we don’t want to run afoul with Disney who own the rights to all things Star Wars. So we are not charging for the class. Our classes usually run $10 per class and we use all the proceeds to purchase materials for all our students! Help us keep our classes free and consider making a donation!

ABOUT THE CLASS
This lightsaber class is intended for teens and adults. However, we can accept students as young as 10. This is not a children’s class. This is NOT a duelling club, the lightsaber class will cover a fencer’s approach to lightsaber methods, foot work, blade work, simple drills, choreography, games, and fun!
It’s limited spaces for the classes. We anticipate spots to fill quickly. As we grow, we’ll be able to offer more classes and more times, so just keep in touch and join or Mailing List.
WHAT YOU NEED
No experience is needed, anyone can participate! We strongly encourage you to bring your own lightsaber. We do have some PVC made lightsabers, but if the class becomes large, we may not have enough for everyone.
Bringing your own lightsaber? Here are some options:
–Build your own PVC practice lightsaber (blade no longer than 36″, and no double blades like Darth Maul)
–Here’s the easiest one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O3wxTMfuOf8
–Do a Google search for making your own lightsaber, remember, the blade should be sturdy enough to take a hit several times.
OR Buy a lightsaber locally
Toy lightsabers: These are generally 24 inches long. Good for ages 4-12. Ones that make sound and light are ok. (Example: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=57818556)
DO NOT buy FX Lightsabers: For what we’ll be doing, FX Lightsabers aren’t meant for dueling and they’ll break.
OR Buy a lightsaber from Ultrasabers.com. These are the kind that the instructors use. Instructors use the 36″ blades.
CLOTHING
Something loose you can move around in, sneakers will do fine. Avoid open toed shoes, slippers, or Crocs.
If you want to cosplay, you’re welcome to, just make sure you can move around in it freely.
