Parents and Previous Fencers! We Need Vet Fencers (Born 1986 Or Earlier) For An Event!

Parents, yep, you!  Not your fencer.  We are hosting a Saturday and Sunday Vet tournament on October 25 and 26, 2025.  In fencing, the Veteran age group is anyone born 1986 or earlier.  And we’re trying to get some of our parents to brave a home competition!

We definitely need more:
Vet Men’s Foil (Saturday, 10AM)
Vet Women’s Foil (Saturday, 1PM)
Vet Women’s Epee (Sunday, 1PM)

We would also enjoy anyone that would like to do the Vet Men’s Epee on Sunday, October 26, at 10AM.  But that event always has enough fencers.

I’ve managed to convince 2 of our mom’s to join us that weekend, and I’ve been giving them a crash course on fencing.  Some fencers over the weekend maybe sorta quick, but we all have a bottle of Ibuprofin in our fencing bags.  For some perspective, one of the Vet Women’s Epee fencers is 80 years old.

If you would like to join us, I can set up a Sunday morning crash course for any of our parents born 1986 or earlier on foil and epee.   You don’t have to move fast, you don’t have to lunge far, you just have to have fun!  Probably on Sunday, October the 19th in the morning.  Think of like yoga…but with swords.  The two parents will probably be coming in on Thurdays too at 8PM to get some work in.

You just need to get your USA Fencing membership ($34 for Access Membership…that’s all that’s required)!  Of course, we’ll provide all the equipment for everyone.  Let me know if you are interested!
