Pisacafe and Homeschool Schedule Now Available

First, what is Pisacafe? 
It’s actually short for PIedmont, SAndhills, and CApe FEar.  Several years ago, the Coach Gerhard, along with the coaches at Greensboro Fencing Academy, and Cape Fear Fencing Association, started a circuit for elementary and middle school students only between our clubs to grow our beginner youth with the anxiety of trying to compete with other kids that compete on a regular basis and train 3-4 times a week.

Also, a points winner is awarded a gift card to Absolute Fencing Gear at the end of the year for the elementary and middle school fencers who earned the most amount of points.  Points are earned based on a calculation of how well you placed in a tournament and how many other fencers were at the tournament.

There have been several points winners that didn’t place first at a single event, but because they attended nearly all the events, they won the circuit because they accumulated the points.  The circuit was intended to promote young fencers going out to compete outside of their own club.

It is open only to elementary and middle school fencers from smaller clubs.  These include All-American Fencing Academy, Cape Fear Fencing Association, Greensboro Fencing Academy, Delta H, Epiphany Fencing Club, High Country Fencing Club, Precision Swordcraft Fencing, Research Triangle Fencing, St. Raphael Fencing Club, St. Stephen Fencing Club.

Homeschool Fencing
The Homeschool Fencing events occur on the same day as the Pisacafe Events.  There is always an individual event.  Any homeschool fencer of any age may participate in the individual events.  And there is also the Varsity Team event.  Our teens fence in a a 3-4 person team event against other NC homeschool teams.  For the All-American Fencing Academy, we will have a roster of homeschool teens that can be rotated or subbed based on who we fence against.

The AAFA Tournament Schedule
I try to filter out all the events either the coaches and many of our fencers will probably be participating in.  You can view a new AAFA calendar at http://schedule.allamericanfencing.com

You can also filter out weapons, age groups, homeschool, etc.
