Reminder: Coach Zion’s Regular Class Now Meets at 5pm on Thursdays
Just a friendly reminder,
Coach Zion’s class will now meet on Thursdays at 5pm starting this week.
This will allow the class more space to work and grow. This will also allow Coach Zion’s class to fence electric with their peers and their skill group.
Of course, we still encourage the fencers to stay for the Thursday evening open fencing starting at 7PM. Fencing students outside of your class and of different skill levels help you get better! The hour in between gives them a chance to rest after their class as well.
Do you want more open fencing?
There’s also a group of fencers that begin open fencing at 7:45PM on Tuesdays?

Why open fence (also called open bouting). Open fencing gives athletes an opportunity to apply their skills in a real-world setting. Jumping straight into a competition can be daunting, but if you’re used to suiting up, hooking up to the reel, and fencing on your own, the transition to competition is smoother. There are many students, young and old, that begin competition early!
It’s also the time that the students build their friendships. Our fencers enjoy fencing and being at the club, not just for the fencing, but also because of the friendships they forge. It helps during competition when you have friends by your side!
