UPDATE! Massive Upset By Preston Heath To Take 3rd Place At Greensboro

The Greensboro Fencing Academy hosted their Body and Blade tournament today.  In foil Preston Heath and Jullian Telles represented the All-American Fencing Academy in a 12 person event.  Preston won 3 and lost 3 in his pools, and Jullian won 4 and lost 1 in his pools.

Jullian seeded 5th while Preston was right behind him seeded 6th going into the elimination rounds.

Jullian breezed through the first round, but faced the 4th seed in the table of 8.  Jullian lost 11-15.

Meanwhile, Preston also breezed through his first round and upset the 3rd seed in the round of 8, winning 15-12.  However Preston was halted in the semi-finals  by the 2nd seed, 7-15.

The final results in the foil, Preston takes a medal for the 3rd place tie and Jullian takes 6th place.

In the epee event, Coach Zion Facey took 7th place, winning 2 and losing 3 in his pools, seeding 9th for the elimination rounds. However Zion uopset the 8th seed in the round of 16, winning 15-14.  But loses to Abe Kaplan in the round of 8.

Lastly, Andrew Wiggs also tied for 3rd in the sabre event.  He had 1 win and 3 losses in the pools and lost in the semi-final round.
