First Week June Updates!
CONGRATS TO OUR COMPETITORS OVER THE WEEKEND!
A number of our fencers competed at the Coach Miller Memorial Open in Apex, NC over the weekend! And they brought home some medals.
Senior Mixed Foil:
3rd place: David Hadler (renews his B rating)
21st place: Jullian Telles
Senior Mixed Epee:
14th Place: Zion Facey: Unfortunatley, Zion and Logan had to face each other in the round of 32. Zion was seeded 17th and Logan was seeded 16th. Zion upset Logan’s higher seed, defeating him 15-11, but was stopped in the round of 16 by Tristan Click.
20th Place: Logan Kunkel
30th Place: Raymond Solano: Ray also upset a higher seed in his first round, but was stopped by the number 2 seed in the second round.
39th Place: Shayna Bustamante
D and Under Senior Mixed Foil
2nd Place: Jullian Telles: Jullian was 8 touches away from earning his D rating. He last in the finals 7-15 against the 4th seed who also managed to upset the 1st seed.

All Epee Event in Charleston, SC on June 20th
There’s an event called The Pirate Olympics on June 20, 2026 in Summerville, SC (Charleston, SC) if anyone is interested. There is a Senior, Veteran, and Y12 Epee event in case anyone wants to travel to Charleston.
Referee Certification Clinic with Rylan Delap
Many of our fencers participated in this referee clinic last time at Apex, NC. They not only did they do the clinic, they were also able to do the practical at the end of class and be observed for their L2 rating. We’ve lost some fencers due to college, and I always like to hire our students to help referee local tournaments, homeschool tournaments, and Pisacafe tournaments. Greensboro and Wilmington also thinks highly of our referees and often hires them as well for local, homeschool, and Pisacafe tournaments. Beginner Summer Camp
We are maxed out in our summer camp! We have 20 students and all our coaches are getting ready for it!
